Trimble to oversee investigation on Israeli attacks on floatilla.

Information has been released that Israel will conduct an independent public commission investigation into the Israeli attacks last week on the civilian floatilla attempting to bring aid to Gaza.

The inquiry is to include two foreign observers - Lord Trimble and a retired Canadian general, Ken Watkin however; Lord Trimble said he has not yet received confirmation about the post.

It is believed that the investigation still has to be ratified by the Israeli parliament.

Trimle’s accepting of the position may be viewed as controversial given the lack of experience that Lord Trimble has in international affairs and unionists' historical link or reputation as friends of Israel may affect his impartially.
