Westminster in Recess

In the current hostile environment in the world of politics it’s unsurprising that the summer recess in Westminster has received a lot of bad press. With the country now facing a major economic crisis as well as a worldwide swine flu pandemic in our midst many constituents think that the MPs should forfeit some (or all) of the recess and dedicate it to reviving the country. Some disillusioned constituents have grouped together and created a web ‘movement’ named 38 degrees where they are asking constituents to write to their MP and ask them what work they intend to carry out over the summer recess. Some have even gone as far as to appeal to constituents to approach their MP during their holiday and take pictures of them to track their movements during the recess. This has been seen as a major breech of privacy for the MPs and has been very controversial. Let us know what you think about this over at our forum!
