Refugee Week 2009

NICRAS, the Northern Ireland Community of Refugees & Asylum Seekers, is organizing the Refugee Week 2009. A lot of events will take place between 15-19 June:

• Tuesday, 16 June 2009: Launch of Refugee Week Events at 4.00 pm at Stormont. NICRAS can provide transport so let them know if you want to attend by Thursday, 11 June 2009.
• Thursday, 18 June 2009: Information Day at 12.00 noon at NICRAS. There will be speakers from Bryson One Stop Service; ASAP; IOM; PSNI; North & West Belfast Trust; NICRAS and the Red Cross. Lunch will be provided and after lunch the speakers will be available to speak to people individually. Interpreters will be available.
• Friday, 19 June 2009: Seminar on Poverty and Destitution, at 2.00 pm at the Linen Hall Library. Speakers: Dylan Chikore (NICRAS Member); Roisin Devlin (NI Human Rights Commission); Frances Dowds (NI Anti-Poverty Network); Denise Wright (Embrace NI) and Neil McKittrick (British Red Cross). After the presentations there will be the opportunity to ask questions from the floor. You will need to register if you wish to attend, so please fill in a form (available from NICRAS) and return it by Monday 15th June 2009.
