Silent Peace Protest
Thursday 12 March 09

Yesterday there was a silent protest against the vicious attacks on the two British soldiers and the police officer. Thousands gathered in Belfast city centre and stood in solidarity together from all sides. This was the biggest gathering of people of the silent peace protests around Northern Ireland to condemn the events that took place. Wimps went out to see the response of people around these attacks and the protest.
We interviewed Tom Hartley, Lord Mayor of Belfast to get his response to the events that took place and his view on what we as young people should do.
We will be putting up interviews soon of David ford, leader of the Alliance, Patricia McKeown, President the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and Patrick Patrick Corrigan, director of Amnesty International Northern Ireland. Please keep checking back for the videos.
