To date the young people from Whitecity have been involved in making a video about their peace wall and how it affects them. They have met with the other Peace Channel groups and had an activity day which was fun and challenging in the
Belfast Activity Centre.
At the end of February the young people from the Peace Channel had a residential together in the East Coast Adventure Centre, which went very well and was hugely successful in terms of coming up with a direction for the Peace Channel.
What have you learnt during your project?
From participating in this project I have learnt about the reality of the Peace Walls effect on young peoples lives and how serious the problem remains. I have also learnt that young people wish to combat sectarianism and are not only passionate about doing so, they are willing to take risks and put in time and effort to improve relations between their communities.
